Thank you for a great IDS 2025!

We would like to thank all our visitors, customers and partners who visited us at the IDS trade fair. Your enthusiasm and interest made this week special!

A big thank you also goes to our fantastic trade fair team, who worked hard to ensure that everything ran smoothly. This success would not have been possible without you!

This year we also had a joint stand with our partners ERNST HINRICHS Dental, al dente Dentalprodukte and Mihm-Vogt. Together we gave our all to show how modern technologies and perfect processes make your everyday work easier.

Year in review – the year 2024 at SILADENT

For SILADENT, 2024 was characterized by successful partnerships, innovative new products and sustainable projects.
We further expanded our expertise and structures in the field of laser melting and focused heavily on digital innovations. Our aim is to always be up-to-date in digital, innovative technologies and to offer our customers forward-looking solutions.
Sustainability also played a key role. We are actively helping to conserve resources with two self-initiated projects. Of particular note is our entry into the recycling of isopropanol, an indispensable component of dental 3D printing technology.
Instead of just riding the sustainability trend wave, we are shaping the direction ourselves – with innovative and pioneering projects.
Here is a look back at our most important milestones:

Shareholder at 2oneLab – a strong partnership for the future of dental technology

We have been an official shareholder of 2oneLab GmbH since spring 2024. This partnership enables us to play an active role in shaping the digital future of dental technology. SILADENT is the exclusive distributor in Europe, while 2oneLab focuses on technological developments and production. Our “Sinterdays” events have inspired numerous interested parties throughout Germany and demonstrated the practical use of laser melting technology.

Introduction of DLyte systems – automated high-gloss polishing

Our new DLyte polishing systems are the perfect complement to the digital workflow, especially in combination with the laser melting process. Larger series can be polished efficiently and precisely, making production processes noticeably more efficient.
We not only distribute the polishing systems throughout Europe, but are also the exclusive distributor in Germany and Austria. Thanks to this advanced technology, consistently high surface qualities can be achieved without manual reworking – for perfect and reproducible results.

Focus on sustainability – recycling campaigns for dental technology

Sustainability and resource conservation were also on our agenda in 2024 – we are setting new standards in the dental industry with two innovative recycling projects:
– Isopropanol recycling: contaminated isopropanol from 3D printing with plastics (resins) is purified and reused by our partner Röben Recycling. This reduces the consumption of resources, prevents toxins and microplastics from entering the environment and makes disposal easier for our customers thanks to the simple collection of hazardous materials.
– Plaster recycling: With our “plaster recycling box”, we offer an environmentally friendly solution for collecting and recycling plaster models, thereby conserving natural raw materials.
With the milestones achieved and exciting projects in sight, we are now turning our focus to IDS 2025 – ready for new innovations and joint successes.

Together into the future – SILADENT and 2oneLab enter into a long-term partnership

(from left: Ran Reznik, CEO from 2oneLab with Markus Rehse, CEO from SILADENT)

The strong partnership between SILADENT and 2oneLab will be intensified. Since the beginning of 2024, SILADENT Dr Böhme & Schöps GmbH (member of the ERNST HINRICHS Group) has strengthened the activities of 2oneLab GmbH as a shareholder.

This intensification spurs us on to continue to decisively advance the digital future of dental technology in Europe. In many industrial sectors, additive manufacturing using the laser melting process has already established itself as an indispensable technology. This pioneering 3D metal printing technology is now increasingly finding its way into dental technology. Thanks to its excellent expertise, 2oneLab has developed the laser melting process specifically for dental applications. The result is innovative solutions that enable highly precise and, above all, very economical use of this technology in dental technology.

Together we utilize our powerful synergies. SILADENT is the exclusive sales partner for Europe, while 2oneLab is dedicated to technological development and production. Our aim is not only to offer laser melting as an isolated manufacturing process, but together with our partners we offer the entire process from design to post-processing for the entire digital workflow from scanning, CAD design, milling of all dental materials to automatic polishing. The analogue dental sector is also constantly being further developed as a valuable basis. We offer our customers a comprehensive workflow concept rather than just individual components. Our well-trained technicians guarantee maximum compatibility, functionality and the highest process reliability, combined with the best service, advice and materials and machines from a single source.

Our joint Sinterdays events, which will take place again in 2024 after four successful events last year, enable us to present our system live to interested technicians throughout Germany. Hands-on laser melting. SILADENT and 2oneLab two strong partners for dental laboratories.

exoplan – library update required

Notification – Action Required

Dear Sales Partner,

We have to inform you of two Field Safety Notices related to exoplan software and related libraries that require immediate action on your part.

  1. Software issue with Straumann BLX/TLX implant library and drill protocol

It has come to our attention that a software issue incorrectly filters compatibility information contained in the library Straumann® BLX/TLX implants and the affected Straumann® step-by-step full drill protocol libraries where multiple sub-full drill protocols exist, e.g., hard-, medium- and soft-bone protocols. To correct the issue and to ensure that all end users of exoplan 3.1 Rijeka are reached and take appropriate action, we are providing an updated exoplan version, and will disable all previous exoplan 3.1 Rijeka versions on October 19, 2023.

Please notify your customers who are using exoplan 3.1 Rijeka immediately, and provide them with the respective update. Please download and read the Field Safety Notice and forward the FSN to your customers by email.

Who is affected?

Only exoplan 3.1 Rijeka users who use or are planning to use a guided surgical treatment approach with Straumann® BLX/TLX implants and Straumann® BLX/TLX/VeloDrill libraries with step-by-step full drill protocol export are affected by this Field Safety Notice.

How should users react?

Users should not use the affected libraries — see section “Affected libraries” in the Field Safety Notice — with exoplan 3.1 Rijeka until the new version and updated libraries are installed. Existing designs of surgical guides using the affected libraries should not be used. All users of exoplan 3.1 Rijeka must update to the latest version, available for download on our download server.

Where can I get this new version?

As usual you can download the software and the detailed release notes in the secure area on our website. Download the zip file that includes the software here:

What other actions were taken?
The affected Straumann® libraries were removed from the download server and “blacklisted” on the exocad server. Users are no longer able to see or download the affected libraries.

For users who have previously installed the affected libraries: As a result of the blacklisting, if the user tries to select a component in the selected full drill protocol library, the user receives a message stating that a library in the planning is “Unsigned”. Users notified by this warning should click “Cancel” and not “Continue”.

New library versions of Straumann® BLX/TLX/VeloDrill libraries have been released.

End users can download the new libraries at https://exocad.com/integration/exoplan-library-integration or use exocad Library Manager from within exoplan.

2. CAMLOG_sleeve and Steco_StecoGuide_Compatible_Camlog_sleeve library set update

It came to our attention that in the case a CAMLOG® Screw-Line Promote® guide-screw-mounted implant is used in a guided surgery procedure using a CAMLOG® or Steco sleeve, the resulting guide allows a drill hole which is 1 mm deeper than expected due to a dimensional error in the affected libraries.

Please download and read the Field Safety Notice.

Note: The issue relates only to the CAMLOG® Screw-Line Promote® guide-screw-mounted implant line. Other CAMLOG® libraries (e.g. Promote® Plus implants) and any other exoplan library package can still be used.

The affected CAMLOG® and Steco libraries were removed from the download server and “blacklisted” on the exocad server. Users are no longer able to see or download the affected libraries.

If the user tries to select a component in the affected library, the user receives a message stating that a library in the planning is “Unsigned”. Users notified by this warning should click “Cancel” and not “Continue”.

New library versions of CAMLOG_sleeve and Steco_StecoGuide_Compatible_Camlog_sleeve have been released.

End users who want to plan CAMLOG® Screw-Line Promote® guide-screw-mounted implants should download the corrected library package:

CAMLOG and Steco GuideCreator libraries with installation manual

End users can also download the new libraries at https://exocad.com/integration/exoplan-library-integration or use exocad Library Manager from within exoplan.

Patient safety is our priority. exocad has no known information relating to any patient injury that has happened in such a case.

As we work closely with all relevant regulatory bodies and authorities to provide transparent reporting on this incident, we ask you to notify your exoplan customers immediately.

If you have any further questions, please contact our Customer Service team: service@exocad.com.

Best regards,
Your exocad Customer Service team
